The room had an electric kettle, tv, and great views of the countryside. Dinner was fantastic with well-cooked steak and duck dishes. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff were really attentive. Spa facilities looked inviting too.

The unique castle architecture brings an element of history to your stay, and the cozy fireplaces add a bit of character that's hard to beat.

It felt more like a light mist than a revitalizing wash. Staying in a courtyard room might leave you craving a bit more privacy, especially with the skylight letting in morning light at 6 a.m., disrupting sleep. The absence of Wi-Fi in the room is a hassle for anyone needing to catch up on work .

Suzanne was fantastic, even stopping by the biggar co-op to help us find tights for a wedding. The gluten-free pheasant with gravy was delicious, and the cozy atmosphere was like visiting family.

A Lovely Stay with a Few Hiccups

We enjoyed our night in a Beautiful Double Room, but missed the charming hotel atmosphere as our room was in a separate courtyard. Make sure to ask for a room with better water pressure in the shower! Don't forget to bring your own Wi-Fi if you need it for work.
